The scholarship, funded by an endowment of $75,000 and with a value of $3,750, will be awarded annually to an ex-pupil of Baradene in her second year of an Ll.B or Ll.B (Hons) degree.

The scholarship is named in memory of educator Sister Erica Pabst, an alumna of Baradene and of The University of Auckland where she studied law, at the same time working as a clerical assistant to the Professor of Law, Ronald Algie. On graduating in 1939, she entered the religious order of the Society of the Sacred Heart where she gained a reputation as an outstanding teacher and administrator.
